Programme
John BORSTLAP | Violin Concerto no. 2, Dreamscape Voyage (World Premiere)
MAHLER | Symphony no. 1
The magical stillness that opens Mahler’s First Symphony could be the dawn of the world itself. But it’s certainly the start of a truly epic musical adventure with HK Phil Music Director Jaap van Zweden. First, though, HK Phil Concertmaster Jing Wang steps into the spotlight for a world first: a new violin concerto by John Borstlap, a composer who believes that good tunes never go out of fashion.

The concert runs approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes with an intermission.
Please note latecomers will miss the whole concerto, and the audience is advised to allow enough time for admission.

Artists
Jaap van Zweden SBS, conductor
Jing Wang, violin
